Tally reports online with Business Reports

See outstanding, ageing, ledger statements, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet and stock from TallyPrime in your browser, and export them to Excel or PDF.

Updated 29 October 2026

Business Reports shows your TallyPrime figures and reports in the browser, on any device. Every figure comes from the company open in TallyPrime at that time. Refresh reads it again. Reports only read. Nothing is saved or changed in TallyPrime.

Before you start

  • The Balancely Connector is running on the computer with TallyPrime.

  • TallyPrime is open on that computer with the company you want to see.

  • The company is connected in Balancely. If you have more than one, choose it in the company list at the top of the page.

  • Any role can open reports, including Viewer. A team member sees only the companies the owner or an admin gave them.

Read the overview

Open Accounts and choose Business Reports. The top of the page sums up the company:

CardWhat it shows
Sales this monthSales Accounts for the month so far, with the change against last month.
Purchases this monthPurchase Accounts for the month so far, with the change against last month.
To receiveWhat customers owe you today, and how much of it is over 90 days old. A post-dated receipt counts from its own date.
To payWhat you owe suppliers, and how much of it is over 90 days old.
Stock valueYour closing stock value today.
Sales vs purchasesMonthly sales and purchases for the last six months.
Receivables by ageWhat customers owe, in four age groups, with the total over 60 days. View report opens Ageing.
Needs attentionDues over 90 days, customers who owe for more than 60 days, and sales up or down 5% or more on last month. Click a line to open its report.
Top dues and top stock itemsThe five customers who owe most, the five suppliers you owe most, and the five items with the highest stock value.

The line under the page title says when the figures were read, for example Updated 2 minutes ago. Choose Refresh to see the latest figures. A report you opened is not read again when you go back to its tab. Use its refresh button for new figures.

The seven reports

Below the overview is the reports area. Choose a report from the tabs along its top. Reports with a period open on the current period. That is from the start of the financial year to today, until you choose another.

ReportWhat it showsFilters
OutstandingEvery unpaid bill with party, bill number, bill date, days old and pending amount.Under Filters: Customers or Suppliers, amount range, outstanding days (0–30, 31–60, 61–90, over 90) and bills made up to a date.
AgeingEach party’s dues split into 0–30, 31–60, 61–90 and over 90 days, with the number of bills.Customers or Suppliers.
Ledger statementEvery entry on one ledger with date, voucher type, ledger, debit and credit. Also the opening and closing balance.Choose the ledger in Choose a ledger, then the period.
Trial balanceDebit and credit of every group, sub-group and ledger.Period.
Profit & lossIncome and expenses by group, ending with Net profit or Net loss.Period.
Balance sheetLiabilities and assets, each side with its total, as on the period’s last date.Period.
Stock summaryClosing quantity, rate and value of each item under its group, with the closing stock total.Period.

The period list has Current period, this or last month, this or last quarter, and this or last financial year. Custom range lets you choose your own dates. A new period is read as soon as you choose it. The refresh button at the end of the toolbar reads the report again from TallyPrime.

Outstanding needs bill-wise details
Only parties with bill-wise details turned on in TallyPrime show in Outstanding.

Search, open a party and fold groups

Search

The search box finds a party or bill number in Outstanding, and a party in Ageing. It finds an item in Stock summary, and a ledger in Trial balance, Profit & loss and Balance sheet. It only searches what is already on screen. In Ledger statement, the box chooses which ledger to read. In Trial balance and Stock summary, the total line is hidden while you search. It covers the whole report.

Open a party’s ledger statement

Click a party name in Outstanding or Ageing, a ledger in Trial balance, or a ledger in a ledger statement. Its ledger statement opens for the same company. This works like drill down in TallyPrime.

Sort, collapse and expand

  • In Outstanding, Ageing and Ledger statement, click a column heading to sort. Click again to reverse it. Click a third time to clear it.

  • In Trial balance, Profit & loss, Balance sheet and Stock summary, the arrow beside a group hides or shows the lines under it. The arrow in the first column heading closes or opens every group at once.

Full view

The full-view icon beside Export (its tooltip says Full view) opens the report on the whole screen. Close it to go back to the page.

Export to Excel, CSV or PDF

  1. 1

Open the report and set its filters, search and sort.

  2. 2

    Choose Export.

  3. 3

Choose Excel (.xlsx), CSV or Print or save as PDF.

Excel and the printed page show the report name, company and period on top. CSV has only the columns, rows and total line, and any balances under the table. Every export has the rows as shown. Closed groups are still included. In Excel and CSV, amounts are plain numbers you can add up. For a PDF, choose Save as PDF in the print window.

When the computer or TallyPrime is off

Reports are read from TallyPrime. So the computer must be on, the company open in TallyPrime, and the connector running. If TallyPrime cannot be reached, the overview shows TallyPrime isn’t connected. Each report shows TallyPrime can’t be reached. Open TallyPrime and the company, and start the connector. Then choose Check connection. The figures load again on their own.

If one part of the overview could not be read, the page names it and shows the rest. Choose Refresh to try again. If it keeps failing, see connector troubleshooting.

What happens in TallyPrime

  • Nothing is saved. No voucher is made and no ledger, group or stock item is changed.

  • Every figure comes from the company open in TallyPrime at that time. Refresh reads it again.

  • Reports never count towards your plan’s TallyPrime entries. Every plan has unlimited reports.

When something goes wrong

Each heading is the message as Balancely shows it. Find yours, or search every message on Fix a problem.

“TallyPrime isn’t connected”

Where you see it: The top of Business Reports (the overview), and each report tab as TallyPrime can’t be reached.

Reports come straight from TallyPrime. The computer with TallyPrime may be off. Or the connector is not running, or TallyPrime or the company is not open. Reports only read your books. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Turn on the computer with TallyPrime, then open TallyPrime and the company.

  2. 2

Start the Balancely connector there and wait until it shows Connected.

  3. 3

    In Balancely, choose Check connection.

  4. 4

The figures load again on their own.

It worked when: The overview shows Updated with a time, and the cards show figures.

Next time: Keep that computer on and the connector running while your team needs reports. If it keeps failing, see connector troubleshooting.

“No unpaid customer bills. Only parties with bill-wise details on in TallyPrime show here.”

Where you see it: The report panel in Business Reports, under Nothing to show.

Outstanding and Ageing use bills in TallyPrime. So only parties tracked bill by bill show there. Other reports have nothing for the dates chosen. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

For a party missing from Outstanding or Ageing, open the party’s ledger in TallyPrime. Set Maintain balances bill-by-bill to Yes. You can also turn on Track bill by bill on Ledgers & Parties, tab Change a ledger.

  2. 2

Old entries show in Outstanding only once they have a bill reference. Until then, open the party’s Ledger statement.

  3. 3

For any other report, choose a period that covers your books, such as This financial year or a Custom range.

  4. 4

Check that the right company is chosen at the top of the page.

“Some figures could not be read this time: Receivables, Payables. TallyPrime took too long to answer, so this could not be read. Nothing was changed. Narrow the date range, or try again when TallyPrime is less busy. Refresh to try again. If it keeps happening, open that report to see the full message.”

Where you see it: The blue note at the top of the Business Reports overview, and on the cards it names.

Most of the overview was read, but not the parts named. The note gives the reason for the first one. The rest of the page is right. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Choose Refresh next to Updated … ago under the page title.

  2. 2

If the same part fails again, open that report’s tab, such as Ageing or Stock summary, to see its own message.

  3. 3

Follow the steps for that message on this page or in connector troubleshooting.

“We could not load this from TallyPrime”

Where you see it: The report panel in Business Reports, or a red note on the overview, with the reason and a Try again button.

TallyPrime could not give this report. The reason under the title says why. It may be the connector, TallyPrime or the company. Or TallyPrime had an error with the report itself. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Read the reason under the title.

  2. 2

If it is about the connector, TallyPrime or the company, follow its steps in connector troubleshooting.

  3. 3

If it says TallyPrime could not make this report, check the dates are inside the company’s books. Then open the same report for the same dates in TallyPrime. Clear any error it shows there.

  4. 4

    Choose Try again.

“The ledger "Sharma Traders" doesn't exist in TallyPrime. Check the spelling, or choose the ledger from the list.”

Where you see it: The Ledger statement tab in Business Reports.

No ledger was chosen, or the name does not match a ledger in TallyPrime. It was entered by hand, or renamed or deleted in TallyPrime after the list was opened. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Click in Choose a ledger and choose the ledger from the list. Do not enter it by hand.

  2. 2

If you renamed or created it in TallyPrime just now, choose Refresh at the bottom of the list. Then choose it.

“Only the first 1,000 bills were read, so the list and total may be short; click a party to open its ledger statement”

Where you see it: The line under the table in Outstanding, Ageing or Ledger statement, and in its export.

These reports show up to 1,000 bills, parties or entries at a time. So the list shows only part of them. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

In Outstanding, search for the party or click its name to open its ledger statement.

  2. 2

In Ageing, search for the party. The totals already cover everyone.

  3. 3

In Ledger statement, choose a shorter period.

Next time: See limits you may see.

The overview figures do not match TallyPrime

Where you see it: The Business Reports overview.

The overview can be a few minutes old. Choose Refresh for the latest figures. To receive and To pay count only bills of parties tracked bill by bill, as due today. A post-dated receipt or payment counts only from its own date, as in TallyPrime's Outstandings report. Sales and purchases count only the Sales Accounts and Purchase Accounts groups. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

For the latest figures, choose Refresh under the page title, or the refresh button on a report.

  2. 2

For dues, turn on bill-by-bill tracking for the party ledgers in TallyPrime. Parties without it are not counted.

  3. 3

For sales or purchases, check for ledgers outside the Sales Accounts or Purchase Accounts groups. Those are not counted.

“From Date to To Date can cover up to 2 years. Narrow the range and try again.”

Where you see it: The report panel, under Check the dates.

The dates are the problem, not TallyPrime. A report covers two years at most, and the From date comes first. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Open the period list and choose Custom range.

  2. 2

Choose a From date before the To date, two years apart or less.

“"Om "Sai" Traders" cannot be looked up in TallyPrime because it contains a double quote. Remove the quote from the name in TallyPrime, or choose the name from the list.”

Where you see it: The Ledger statement tab, the GSTR-1 Reconciliation, or any search for a name entered by hand.

TallyPrime cannot search for a name with a double quote (") in it. So Balancely does not try. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

In TallyPrime, open the ledger or item and remove the double quote from its name.

  2. 2

In Balancely, choose the name from the list. Do not enter it by hand.

  3. 3

    Open the report again.

An entry is missing from Activity History

Where you see it: Accounts > Activity History, its Filter and the empty list.

Activity History shows only the company chosen at the top, with your status, filter and search. Entries older than your plan keeps are not shown. Nothing was changed in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Check the company chosen at the top of the page.

  2. 2

Choose the All tab. Open Filter to change the dates, the type of entry and who entered it.

  3. 3

    Clear the search box.

  4. 4

For an entry older than your plan keeps, look in Day Book in TallyPrime.

Activity History says Not confirmed: the entry may be in TallyPrime

Where you see it: Accounts > Activity History: the row marked Not confirmed, and Not confirmed in TallyPrime when you open it, with the line “TallyPrime may have saved it before the answer was lost”.

TallyPrime's answer was lost, so Balancely could not confirm the save. It shows with the failed entries, but TallyPrime may have saved it. It may be in TallyPrime. Saving the same entry again is safe. It is never added twice.

  1. 1

Look for the entry in Day Book in TallyPrime, on its date.

  2. 2

Either way, open it in Activity History, choose Fix & retry and save it without changes.

  3. 3

For an entry from a GSTR-1, bank statement or GSTR-2B import, choose view import and then Save failed entries again instead.

  4. 4

Do not enter it again as a new entry.

It worked when: Activity History shows Saved, and Day Book has the voucher once.

“This entry cannot open on the form. Open view import below and choose Save failed entries again. Or fix it on the GSTR-1 Reconciliation, GSTR-2B Reconciliation or Bank Statement Import page and save it there.”

Where you see it: Accounts > Activity History: an entry that came from a GSTR-1, bank statement or GSTR-2B page, or a bill, has no Fix & retry in its details.

Those entries have amounts, tax and rate lines that the forms have no box for. A form would save a different entry from the one that failed. So the form is not offered. Nothing is saved in TallyPrime yet.

  1. 1

Open the entry in Activity History and read why it failed.

  2. 2

    Choose view import.

  3. 3

Choose Save failed entries again. It saves the same details as the same entry.

  4. 4

After 14 days the details are deleted. Then check again on the GSTR-1, bank statement or GSTR-2B page, and save the row from there.

“This matches an entry already sent to this company on 12 Oct 2026 (TallyPrime no. 45), so it was not sent again. If it really is a second entry, open it and send it.”

Where you see it: An imported entry in Accounts > Activity History, marked Failed; the Held back as repeats count on the import.

Balancely already saved the same entry for this company. So it held this one back, to stop it going in twice. This one was not saved. The earlier one is, or may be, in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Look in TallyPrime for the earlier entry, on the date given.

  2. 2

If it really is a second entry, open this one in Activity History, choose Fix & retry and save. This lets a held-back entry through.

  3. 3

For a row from a GSTR-1, bank statement or GSTR-2B page, check again on that page instead. If TallyPrime no longer has it, you can save the row again there.

“Waiting. It is saved in TallyPrime once the connector is online.”

Where you see it: An entry in Accounts > Activity History: the status Waiting, Sending or Cancelled, with this note when you open it.

Waiting is an imported entry that waits for the connector and TallyPrime. Sending is being saved now. Not sent was stopped before it reached TallyPrime. For example, the import was stopped, or the person who saved it lost access. Nothing is saved in TallyPrime yet.

  1. 1

Waiting: open the connector and TallyPrime on that computer. It goes on its own.

  2. 2

Sending: wait. The page updates by itself.

  3. 3

Not sent: save it again, as a new entry or a new import.

“Activity History could not be loaded”

Where you see it: A red note at the top of Accounts > Activity History, with Try again.

Your browser could not get the list from Balancely. Often the internet on this computer stopped. Nothing was changed.

  1. 1

Check the internet on the computer you are using.

  2. 2

    Choose Try again.

“This entry went to this company in another import on 12 Oct 2026 (TallyPrime no. 45), so it was not sent again. Check TallyPrime before entering it again.”

Where you see it: An import’s retry, or the top of a form opened with Fix & retry.

The entry changed. Another import saved it, it was saved, or its import was cancelled. Nothing new was saved in TallyPrime.

  1. 1

Reload Accounts > Activity History to see the entry’s current status.

  2. 2

If another import saved it, look for it in TallyPrime before you enter anything.

  3. 3

For a cancelled import, start a new import. Or check again on the GSTR-1 or bank page and save from there.

“TallyPrime could not find Sales 102 to cancel, and made a new Sales entry dated 12-Oct-2026 instead. Sales 102 was not cancelled. Open Day Book for that date in TallyPrime, check the new entry and delete it. The original may have been changed in TallyPrime since it was created.”

Where you see it: The Cancel entry window on an entry in Accounts > Activity History.

The cancel did not work. “Could not find” means the voucher was changed or deleted in TallyPrime. So TallyPrime made a new voucher instead of cancelling it. “Not created through this platform” means Balancely did not make it for this company. After “could not find”, TallyPrime has a new voucher it made by mistake. The first one is not cancelled. After “couldn’t confirm it”, the cancel may have worked.

  1. 1

Open the voucher in TallyPrime first, from Day Book on its date.

  2. 2

“Could not find”: in Day Book for that date, find the new voucher TallyPrime made and delete it. Then cancel the first one in TallyPrime.

  3. 3

“Couldn’t confirm it”: if TallyPrime shows the voucher as cancelled, you are done. If not, choose Cancel entry again.

  4. 4

“Not created through this platform”: cancel it in TallyPrime.

  5. 5

You cannot cancel ledgers and stock masters from Balancely. Change them in TallyPrime.

Common questions

How can I view Tally reports online?

Connect your TallyPrime company to Balancely and open Accounts, then Business Reports. The seven reports are read from TallyPrime while the connector runs on your computer.

Can I access Tally data remotely?

Yes, from any browser. The computer with TallyPrime must be on, the company open and the connector running. If that computer is off, the reports cannot be read.

How do I export the trial balance from Tally to Excel?

Open Trial balance in Business Reports, choose the period, then Export and Excel (.xlsx). The file has the report name, company and period on top, then the groups and totals.

How do I view the outstanding report for one party?

Search for the party in Outstanding. Or click its name to open its ledger statement, with every entry and the closing balance.

Why is a party missing from the outstanding report?

Outstanding lists bills only for parties with bill-wise details turned on in TallyPrime. Check that party in its ledger statement instead.

Do reports count towards my plan?

No. Only entries saved in TallyPrime count. Reports and lists are unlimited on every plan.
